「hands down 」と「hand down 」の違い

数日前ラジオ英会話を聞いていましたら、「hands down」が耳に入ってきました。最初は「hand down」の「hand」に「s」が付いている動詞で、「伝える」という意味だと思いました。ですが、位置的にこれでは意味が通じないのです。

それで、調べてみましたら、驚愕です。

下のように副詞的な用法がありました。
